The purpose of this course is to increase a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival with minimal neurological damage.
This course is designed to align with the objectives for level two adult resuscitation as defined in the Core Skills Training Framework.
Cardiac arrest is a dire medical emergency. Immediate resuscitation and defibrillation within 2 minutes may increase a victim’s survival rate by 60%. You have a responsibility to resuscitate.
The purpose of this course is to increase a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival with minimal neurological damage. To do this, you will review the latest Resuscitation Council guidelines. These guidelines outline steps for properly checking responsiveness and breathing in the victim.
You will review steps for using an Automated External Defibrillator which analyses the victim’s need for a shock.
By the end of this course, you should feel confident in your ability to respond in such emergency situations.
