ABOUT THIS COURSE:

This course reviews the recommended measures and standard precautions for infection prevention and control.

This course is designed to align with the objectives for infection prevention and control level 2 as defined in the Core Skills Training Framework.

Healthcare-associated infections (HCAI) are a serious issue in healthcare settings, and are becoming increasingly difficult to treat as bacteria become more and more resistant to antibiotics. The Health Protection Agency (HPA) estimates that between 15–30% of healthcare-associated infections are preventable. Staff in healthcare settings must bring a high level of awareness and diligence to their practice to prevent and control infections.

This course reviews the recommended measures and standard precautions for infection prevention and control.
