This course should help you understand your role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and be confident assessing risks and reporting incidents.

Health, safety and welfare is an important topic. Between 2014 and 2015, there were
• 1.2 million work-related injuries
• 27.3 million work days lost, and
• 14.3 billion pounds estimated cost of injuries
The purpose of this course is to help you maintain a safe work environment. Your employer has a responsibility to follow legislation to create a safe environment.

You also have a responsibility. Conduct risk assessments throughout the day to identify potential hazards. If there is a risk, do something about it. If you are unable to do sort it out, then report it to someone who can such as your supervisor.

By the end of this course, you should understand your role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and be confident assessing risks and reporting incidents.
