Care Certificate: S11 Safeguarding Children

COURSE CODE: RELUK-CC-11
TRAINING HOURS: 1.00
ABOUT THIS COURSE:

The purpose of this course is to make you aware of abuse that children may face and to help you recognise signs of abuse and report suspicion.

This course aligns with objectives as defined in the safeguarding children portion of the Care Certificate. The Care Certificate is issued at your employer’s discretion, and additional in-person or organisation-specific training may be required on this topic.

In 2015, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) reported over 50,000 children in the United Kingdom were identified as needing protection from abuse (NSPCC, 2015). And for each case reported, an estimated eight additional cases are not. Children need protection from all forms of abuse. They have a right to a healthy life—one free from abuse or neglect.

The purpose of this course is to make you aware of the risks and forms of abuse that children face and to help you understand your role in recognising signs of abuse and reporting suspicion.
